Google Calendar: Get Organized App Reviews

Awesome app...but Ive noticed that some times the reminders dont actually go off. Just happened to me this morning. Ive been using the app for 3 yrs. and this just started happening. Not sure whats up but its annoying.

Please update the app to include the current date on the icon. Will give 5 stars once Im able to see the current date without have to open the app.

I previously used Calendars+, but had to change due to work requirement. I am super frustrated with this calendar. Less easy to use than Calendar+, buggy, and considerably less versatile. E.g. Once one event is entered on a day, I am only able to edit that event, not add another. I am unable to edit an event color once it is saved. I cant copy and paste items on calendar (very useful for irregularly recurring events). I am hoping upgrades are in the works!

Now, I know that this review is anecdotal as are most reviews. However, I just wanted to write this review in response to Google adding a widget to this wonderful app. What makes it even better though is that a day or two before the update I put in a feedback request asking for a widget. Now I know my feedback wasnt the one that influenced them in any way. However, its nice to see that they listen to their consumers.

After a few days of using Googles Calendar I deleted Fantastical which was excellent but did not have the ability to sync with all devices and I had to buy the program for each device. And I found I needed a few other options. Googles Calendar does it all. To those unfortunate individuals that can not find this or that option as per the previous reviews all I can say is that "It is in there" just take a few minutes to explore. With so many possible options to customize this program to your needs, it is easily understandable that you need to take a few minutes to explore the program but all are intuitive and easy to configure and use. When you do you will be surprised and pleased. From holidays (national and religious) to getting directions from Google Maps to ..... well everything else "it is just in there." I would have given it 10 stars but there is only the option for 5. Thank You Google!!!!! Oh! and I was able to transfer the only information from Fantastical directly into Google and it was seamless.

So far there isnt a free calendar app that replaces the Sunrise Calendar app that Microsoft stole from all of us to make us use Outlook. No way I will use Outlook in a million years. The Google Calendar app is simple but not intuitive. There seems to be an extra click, swipe, or tap thats required to add a schedule. I wish I didnt have to click on the "edit" button to edit it but simply tap it. Thats two additional taps to change a schedule. Also, if I write, "lunch with GM at 12pm," itd be nice if the app intuitively set the time to 12pm to 1pm. The design is also a bit confusing to look at. I had to scroll and focus really hard to find the "Location" to at my location. I do appreciate that it uses Google Maps to direct me to my location when I click on it. Lastly, itd be great if there was a Mac app that would allow me to use it apart from the browser.

Widget, yay! It just doesnt update often enough, so I cant see recent changes...

The app does not set off any audible notifications. Needs to allow setup of a constant alarm that doesnt shut off until done by the user. I nearly missed a meeting today because of the notification not going off as scheduled

This calendar is excellent overall! A real lifesaver! However, whenever I try to make a recurring event with custom settings, it does its own thing. For example: I set an event to repeat every 3rd Tuesday. I scrolled to when the event is supposed to be scheduled next and it ended up landing on a Monday, saying that the event repeats every 3rd Monday. Then I scroll to the next one, and it landed on a Saturday, saying that it repeats every 3rd Saturday. Like, what?!? It just does what it wants. Its so inconvenient for me to have to place every recurring event in manually because the tool is not functioning properly. Then, though...my regular appointments sometimes shift. Does that happen to others too, or is that just me?

Please, please ((((match))) the functionality I used to get from a BlackBerry Classic mobile phone where audible alerts and/or vibrate patterns could be user-set. Current Popups do not cause iPhones to emit a selectable ((((sound)))) or ((((vibrate)))) pattern with a sleep option. Often being caught flat footed. Very embarrassing. Reaching out to Apple as well. Would not recommend in current state. Wondering if there is a way to receive ((((audible)))) notifications for (((important)))) emails ((((only)))). Anyone else dealing with audible alerts for ((((every email))))l received?

App always freezes every time I open it and I am forced to exit and close the pop several times.

The app continues to force close every time I open it. Doesnt give me time to enter dates and events.

Good: * beautiful, clean design * multiple view options * Google Maps integration * Today View widget (finally!--thank you!) cleanly shows events for today and tomorrow Bad: * no badge notifications for todays events

Im not getting push notifications updates on calendar information and when my reminder Tone of Events etc sounds no push notifications.

Yikes.. It appears the ability to edit and or change your events has disappeared with the latest update.. Please bring it back !!! The rating will change when the app is updated to include this option.

I love Google Calendar. Dont get me wrong. Im a nursing student with two jobs so I stay a little bit busy, and Google Calendar is a lifesaver. HOWEVER, This app would receive 5 stars and all the love I have in my heart if there was an option to select days of the week a certain event repeats instead of the standard "repeats every week", "repeats every day", etc. For college students who have the same classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, it would be great to be able to select an option to repeat that event on certain days every week and still be able to end it on a certain day (i.e. end of the semester). As of now its a hassle to decide, "Should I select repeats every day and then delete every day its not applicable or add a million individual events to my calendar?" Aint nobody got time for that.

Overall the best calendar app Ive used. Very intuitive and syncs well with other Google suite products. Two suggestions: 1) As others noted, itd be great if the icon indicated the actual date, not default "31" 2) The app name was shortened so its not cut off to "Google Cal..." by default on iPhone.
